Changing core issues by peeling away layers of judgment ▶ Play excerpt03:07

Frederic revisits earlier guidance about changing the core issues of who we are, asking whether one goes deeper and broader and stops just before there are no more judgments; the Wonders say one can go past that and be rid of all judgments.

They explain that what looks like a single judgment is usually a judgment of a judgment of a judgment, and that peeling away the layers leads to the real core issue; even at what seems to be the core one should go a little deeper and check for further judgment, since ultimately it is judgment that separates one from the All That Is, and getting past all judgment would reveal oneself as part of it.

When Frederic asks whether saying 'we are energy' is itself a judgment, they confirm the mind holds a judgment and a degree of separation around the concept of energy: it is a pleasant mental concept that does not dissolve the judgments and justifications behind daily choices.

If he truly realized he is not merely a mind, an ego personality and a physical body, those choices would be deeper and broader, or he might not make them at all but wait, knowing that in waiting all reveals itself, and so his way of living and expressing would change.

Tools beyond the mind: awareness, judgment and undefinability ▶ Play excerpt05:44

Frederic asks whether there are tools other than the mind, suggesting awareness.

The Wonders reply that to the mind awareness is a tool, but what the mind takes for awareness is judged awareness and therefore not true awareness; as long as there is judgment, awareness can be called a tool of the soul essence, but without judgment awareness is the soul essence.

Frederic notes that even saying there is a soul essence is a judgment, which they confirm and encourage him to keep pursuing.

When he describes the difficulty of awareness reflecting on awareness, they clarify that he is really reflecting on judgments, thoughts and constructs created by his mind, and that this reflection helps him get through the maze of the mind toward a pathway beyond it, which requires reflection and awareness but above all willingness, so that the mind is no longer the dominating, defining factor of choice in the moment.

That is the beginning of realizing one's spirituality.

They add that 'energy' is only a word they use for a non-physical state of being to help humanity past its present illusions, and is itself an illusion he can go past, arriving at a point of undefinability where the question is not how to define it but how he chooses to acknowledge its presence — as energy, soul, All That Is, or anything he chooses — while recognizing the judgment inherent in that acknowledgement and looking for an opening into a deeper one.

Asked whether judgment is a tool, they say it is a tool of the mind and also of the soul, since without judgment the soul would not be a soul but the All That Is: every degree of separation is a judgment, and judgment is allowed by the All That Is to create opportunity for exploration.

Judgment itself is not negative; its constant application by the human mind is what he is looking to quiet.

The never-ending circle of ego and mind issues ▶ Play excerpt01:59

Frederic observes that he could examine issues of ego and personality forever without ever getting out.

The Wonders agree that this is a never-ending circle of the mind judging the mind judging the mind's issue, but say it is beneficial to acknowledge its presence without puzzling over why, and then simply to be and observe whether that presence is all there is or whether there is more.

Frederic notes the mind seems to have no choice in this, though it does; the Wonders reply that the mind is very good at building a maze and that it is for him to decide how to navigate it, or to step outside it completely.

The mind's fear, its sufficiency, and its relationship with choice ▶ Play excerpt03:57

Frederic senses that stepping outside the maze will bring fears.

The Wonders explain that as he explores this way the mind realizes its ability to control existence is an illusion and that its power was given to it by him; when he exercises his power by commanding the mind, the mind becomes very fearful about its relationship with him, its ability to carry out his commands and even its own self-identity.

By acknowledging the mind's fears while continuing to command it, the mind eventually realizes it is sufficient, safe, and a reflection of the joy that he is, at which point the six defining statements materialize in the mind and it sees itself as sufficient not separately from him but as a part of him, commanded by him.

Frederic recognizes that sufficiency is what is missing, mentions bad nights that seem related to the mind's fear, and describes everything falling into place effortlessly through choice, while noting his mind still treats choice as an unsolved puzzle and as something outside itself.

The Wonders confirm the mind only sees choice as something it can exercise, control and direct, which choice is not, and say that eventually the mind will gain and accept a new relationship with choice, after which his present ease will become even easier.

As the session closes, Frederic says his life has become much more interesting and that if it continues in this direction he will not complain; they leave him with the question of why he said 'if'.
