In January 2007, Frederic asked the Wonders which of all his questions they had found most puzzling. They said it was the one about walking on water. The one he asked in 2012. He had not asked it yet.
Make of that what you like. It is on one of the recordings.
The published recordings run from November 2005 to March 2026. They were private. Nobody made them to be read, which is most of what makes them worth reading. There is no audience in the room. Frederic asks about his teeth with exactly the seriousness he later brings to what is left of a person when the thinking stops.
Since then they have been transcribed by machine, corrected by ear, and split into individual questions. 269 questions are published here, drawn from 75 sessions. Other people appear as initials. Some questions were indexed and then withheld, because they belong to somebody's private life more than they belong to an archive. The audio is excerpts, never the full session.
Nothing here explains the Wonders themselves. For that, start at www.thewonders.com, then come back.
Then pick a year. 2005 is tooth enamel and interest rates. 2019 is what remains when the mind goes quiet. It is the same man, asking.
